Florida man arrested for sexual abuse, sodomy charges in Dallas County

Selma police say a Florida man has been arrested for sexually abusing two juvenile females.

According to court records obtained by Action 8 News, 30-year-old Adam William Hart engaged in sexual intercourse with a 6-year-old female between June 18, 2023 through March 15, 2024.

The incident happened at the mother’s home in Dallas County while she was away at work. Hart is charged with 1st degree sodomy and sexual abuse in that case.

Court records also say between June 28, 2023 through July 18, 2023, Hart engaged in sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female. He is charged with 1st degree sodomy, 2nd degree sodomy and 2nd degree rape in that case.

On April 25, the Selma Police Department, with the help of the Department of Human Resources, received information that Hart was in the state of Florida using a false name.

Detectives with the Selma Police Department made contact with the Levy County Sheriff’s Office to assist with locating the suspect.

That same day, at approximately 3:03 pm, Hart was taken into custody by the Levy County Sheriff’s Office.

On May 2, Adam William Hart was taken into custody by the Selma Police Department.
