MPD: Man in crisis creates incident in downtown Montgomery
Montgomery police have confirmed to Action 8 News that a man whom they say was in crisis created an incident downtown.
Capt. Raymond Carson said this morning at about 8:32AM, police were called to the 200 block of Monroe Street on an alarm call.
That is the location of the RSA Tower. While police didn’t confirm the location, Action 8 News has spoken with an employee inside the RSA Tower who said that it happened there.
Carson said the man was taken into custody without incident. Carson did not disclose the details of the man’s situation.
Action 8 News received word from a family member of an employee inside the Lurleen B. Wallace Office Building at 500 Monroe Street that it was briefly put under lockdown. That building is directly across the street from the front of the Alabama Capitol.
No other information has been released.
