Man faces attempted murder charge, other charges in Prattville
A man who’s accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a Prattville shopping center faces a list of charges.
Prattville police say at around 6:08PM last night, they and the fire department were called to the 2400 block of Pinnacle Lane on a call of trauma with injury. That location is in the High Point Town Center complex.
Police say that’s where they found a woman who said she was forced into a back room of the business and sexually assaulted. Police say the man also robbed the business and tried to set it on fire before running away.
Police say the man, identified as 29-year-old Isaac Mathis of Pompano Beach, Florida, was found shortly thereafter and arrested.
He is charged with rape, attempted murder, robbery and arson. He is being held at the Elmore County Jail without bond, under Aniah’s Law.
The woman was taken to a hospital for treatment.
