Staying hot through Labor Day

We officially reached 100 degrees in Montgomery Wednesday afternoon, which was four degrees below the Capital City’s record high for August 28th.  Heat index values will climb over 100 during the day Thursday, with actual temperatures in the middle-to-upper 90’s.

Isolated to scattered thundershowers are expected each day through the weekend, mostly during the afternoon and evening hours.  Rain chances are slightly higher on Labor Day Monday, but still below fifty percent for each location.

A major reduction in the summer heat could arrive next week, with afternoon highs below 90 degrees starting Wednesday.
