Water collected for Macon County residents who don’t have water service
An estimated 1,400 residents in Macon County are without water, but the River Region United Way is stepping in to help.
A water pump failure is what caused the residents to be without water service.
The River Region United Way is collecting cases of bottled water and gallon water jugs until 4PM today at the Publix in Pike Road.
It says the goals is to deliver water to the affected residents this evening, with a larger water drive planned for 10AM-3PM Tuesday at the same location.
