Action 8 News presents the Top 8 Stories of 2024. This is our annual look back at the stories that shaped our local area during the year.
We don’t rank the stories in a particular order, because everyone has their own ideas on which stories are most important.
In 2024, we saw a shooting that left people in Montgomery worried for their safety. We also saw a historic election in U.S. House District 2 and the arrival of F-35 fighter jets to the 187th Fighter Wing at Dannelly Field and the MH-139 Grey Wolf helicopters to Maxwell Air Force Base.
We also saw the departures of Montgomery’s police chief and the superintendent of Montgomery Public Schools.
