Alabama Department of Transportation Hosts Safety Seminar for Emergency Responders
The Alabama Department of Transportation held a seminar in Butler County to better train emergency responders on safety during transportation emergencies that occur in high traffic areas.
According to statistics 487 law enforcement officers tow truck drivers and construction workers have been killed since 2020.
Alabama’s move over law requires drivers to move over and or reduce speed when approaching emergency vehicles. ALDOT seeks to train each emergency personnel on how to better take their own safety into their hands by ensuring that each accident scene is handled properly.
The three day training event was in partnership with the Butler County EMA office and hosted by Lurleen B. Wallace Community College, Greenville Campus.
