Montgomery firefighters were called to fight a fire at a hotel building.

Montgomery Fire/Rescue Assistant Fire Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire was reported at about 4:41PM yesterday at a multi-story hotel building in the 1100 block of West South Boulevard. That location is west of Interstate 65 between the interstate and Mobile Highway.

Smoke could be seen coming from the third floor when firefighters arrived, Cooper said.

The fire was put out and no one was found inside.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
