Birmingham-based Hero Doughnuts opens in downtown Montgomery
A Birmingham-based restaurant is now open in downtown Montgomery.
Hero Doughnuts officially opened its doors to its new location at 350 North Perry Street to the public Tuesday.
The restaurant is located in a new facility invested by the Equal Justice Initiative and near the Legacy Museum and Legacy Plaza. In addition, Little Donkey will soon be opening its doors next door.
“Very excited to see this opening particular with the growth of the number of visitors,” said EJI Executive Director Bryan Stevenson. “Our visitation has increased dramatically in the last year and a half. We’re looking at hundreds of thousands of visitors each year and we want to meet their needs. We want to provide a place where they can eat, reflect, talk, think and digest all of the contacts we are giving them.”
Along with doughnuts, the eatery serves breakfast and lunch.
This is the Hero’s first location in Montgomery and the eighth in the south, with locations in Birmingham, Nashville and Atlanta areas.
