Selma City School District Kicks Off Super Citizen Program

From the West Alabama Newsroom–Â A new civics-based education program in Selma City Schools — is teaching — inspiring — and empowering the Next Great American Generation.
The program is called the Super Citizen Program and its designed to show students how vital they are to America’s future.
In addition to providing resources and training — the program also promotes career development, financial literacy and builds character.
“Children at this age are very impressionable and its an opportune time to instill in them strong character and also the importance of working hard and being appreciative and understanding the freedoms that they have,” said Superintendent Dr. Angela Mangum.
“I believe that it will lay a foundation for them to really focus on their education and being the best that they can be.”
