Autauga County Adds More Deputies
Autauga County sheriffs office is adding more deputies, and county officials say the additions have been a need for years.
That’s because Autauga County is adding two new deputies. The sheriffs office received more funding from the Autauga County commission.
“If somebody was out sick, or something happened we only had one person covering the county, and it really put a burden, and it was unsafe. Unsafe on the deputies, unsafe on the people out in the county.” Says Autauga County Sheriff Joe Sedinger.
Even though the county has added two more deputies they don’t want to stop there. The sheriff also says he’s hoping to add six more deputies in the next few years. This is the first time the Autauga County Sheriff’s Office has added more deputies since 2011.
