Fugitive wanted in apartment shooting captured in Pine Hill

The teenager charged with robbing a Montgomery teen at gunpoint and stealing his car from a gas station in April of 2024 — has been arrested again.

Waka Phattpmrdr0625 VoPine Hill Chief Nikisha Gailes says 18 year old Gary Brown, Jr. has been arrested on charges that include attempted murder and shooting into an occupied building.

Gailes says Brown opened fire on a man in the parking lot of Peachtree Apartments Sunday.

“There was a vehicle that got hit. There was an apartment building that also that got hit. It was occupied with an adult female and four children, juveniles. At that time we started a manhunt looking for Mr. Brown,” said Gailes.

“And with his background there’s no doubt if he gets out he’ll do it again. You know, we just keep putting them in there and they keep letting them out. We put them back in there, they let ’em back out. That’s what we dealing with.”

Gailes says the Wilcox Co. Sheriff’s Office captured Brown in the Pine Hill area Tuesday.
