Montgomery Clean City Commission donates litter bags to law enforcement
The Montgomery Clean City Commission has donated car litter bags to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office and the Montgomery Police Department.
The commission worked with the Alabama Department of Transportation to provide 150 car litter bags for the sheriff’s office and more than 300 bags for the police department. The bags were presented yesterday.
The litter bags can be clipped on the back of the seat or dashboard of your car.
The Montgomery Clean City Commission says law enforcement officers are the perfect ambassadors in promoting Keep Alabama Beautiful as they are on patrol.
“We’re hoping this will continue our partnership with law-enforcement in promoting a clean community A litter free community and encouraging our residents and our visitors to respect our community by keeping it cleaner than they found it when they came here,” Ken Ward of the Clean City Commission told Action 8 News.
“When you look at what we able to provide our deputies as it relates to tools to do their job. This is a small piece of the pie to be able to give them the opportunity to be out there and set a positive example of picking up trash and making the first step in the right process to get everybody else on board in this initiative,” Maj. Joshua Douglass of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said.
