Annual Chilly Fest in Linden Draws Thousands Each Year

From the West Alabama Newsroom–  Another big-time Christmas party is going on in Marengo Co. this weeked — this time in Linden.

The annual Chilly-Fest got underway Friday — and wraps up Saturday night.

Organizers say the two-day festival grew out the annual Christmas Parade of Lights. Now the event also features a Christmas Carnival — live entertainment — a fireworks show — and a chili cook off.

“This year we’ve got 18 teams,” said event coordinator Bruce Ward. “We’ve got local vendors, arts & crafts, food from all over the area. the night parade is great. There’s all kinds of floats. the creativity is just amazing.”

Ward says Chilly-Fest continues to grow each year.
