A two-person tandem team with Alabama ties are the winners of the Great Alabama 650.
Bobby Johnson and Matt Taylor crossed the finish line at Fort Morgan around 11:51 p.m Thursday.
It took Johnson and Taylor 5 days, 9 hours and 3 minutes to complete the 650-mile journey.
Taylor is from Brantley, while Johnson is from Clearwater, Florida.
Johnson and Taylor are taking home the overall title and the two-person tandem team category, but there’s still a lot of race left for the rest of the pack.
Arizona native Christopher Thomas is still currently leading in the male solo category, but Missouri native Jake VanLue is right there with him.
In the female solo category, Florida native Salli O’Donnell is still in first place.
The 650-mile paddle race started Saturday at Weiss Lake in Northeast Alabama.
