Larger stores aren’t the only stores with busy aisles for the holidays…
To keep shops on the square thriving Troy’s “Evening of Shopping” lets customers shop late.

“It also keeps the money in the community which helps our economy and it helps your neighbor,” Hillary Byrd.

Coordinators say Troy’s evening of shopping not only benefits shops during Christmas but also throughout the year.

Hillary Byrd has been a part of the children’s shop E+Me for two years and says being on the square has really helped their business.

“We’ve just expanded customer wise, store-wise. Its really been wonderful.”

Participating shops and restaurants in downtown Troy plan to stay open until 8 pm for shoppers.

“We really like this time of year because it we really get to see the kids smiling and happy about Christmas and in the Christmas spirit,” says  Hannah Galloway

Businesses say this is the perfect event to contribute to Troy economically.

“We already have a hard enough time competing with stores in the area,” says  Christina Edenfield.
