WEATHER AUTHORITY: Heavy rain, severe storms possible Saturday
ACTION 8 WEATHER AUTHORITY: Heavy rain, strong storms and possible brief tornadoes are expected through Saturday across Central Alabama.
A tornado watch is in effect until 10:00am Saturday. The primary threats include: a few tornadoes possible and scattered damaging wind gust up to 70 mph possible! A Flood Watch continues for counties along and north of U.S. Highway 80 and Interstate 85. The expiration time has been extended to 6:00PM Saturday.
Be prepared for 2-4″ of rain through Saturday, with isolated areas possibly getting 5″. The heaviest rainfall is expected northwest of Interstate 85. The rain could lead to flooding in low-lying areas.
Storms could bring wind gusts of 60MPH and isolated brief tornadoes.
