Hornets top Arkansas-Pine Bluff to advance to SWAC Championship
3-seeded Alabama State Women’s Basketball defeats 7-seeded Arkansas-Pine Bluff to advance to the SWAC Championship against defending champion Southern.
The Hornets had three starters in double figures: Alanah Pooler (13), Caylee Simpson (12), and Ny’Keria Flowers (14). Coming off the bench as a key contributor for Alabama State was Amari Franklin, who recorded ten points.
This will be the Hornets’ first trip to the SWAC Championship since 2022.
The SWAC Women’s Basketball Championship is set for 12:00 on Saturday, March 14th, on ESPN-U.
