Two Butler County Organizations ban together to bring Awareness to Health, Wellness and Autism in Greenville
The Peer helpers of Butler County are planning their inaugural wellness fair in Greenville and are teaming up with local advocates to ensure the community has sufficient awareness in areas of health and wellness.
What started as a small support group for lile minded parents has grown to so much more. Joining Jalen’s fight was just a small group of parents of special needs kids, particularly those with autism and now it is a big organization. Joining Jalen’s fight has grown and is now fighting for health and wellness issues alongside Butler County partners.
“This is Butler County’s first Wellness fair, says
Michele Thigpen, Butler County Mental Health Services Coordinator, “and we are so excited and we hope that it will become a yearly event. Our goal is to let the community see the resources that we have to offer and leave feeling supported and enlightened by what resources that we have available.”
Joining Jalen’s fight is teaming up with Butler County Mental Health Services and the Butler County Board of Education to host an its annual autism walk and inaugural wellness fair. The joint event is to bring awareness and support to families in Butler County who may need additional resources.
The autism walk and inaugural wellness fair is April 18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Confederate Park in Greenville. This is Joining Jalen’s Fight’s third Autism walk.
