New I-85 Connector Officially Open for Drivers

After years of planning and construction the new I-85 connector is officially open.
Governor Bentley, along with mayors of Pike Road, Montgomery, and other officials were on hand for the ribbon cutting this morning.
It connects the interstate with Vaughn road, with plans to eventually make it all the way to interstate 65. Officials say the connector was needed, especially to attract more businesses. The Alabama Department of Transportation broke ground on the project in 2011.
