Sold-Out Event Highlights Faith, Discipline at Valiant Cross Academy
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) — A celebration of faith, discipline and community support is shining a spotlight on the future of Montgomery’s young scholars.
Valiant Cross Academy’s annual “Breakfast with the Scholars” returns for its seventh year, continuing a growing tradition aimed at uplifting and investing in local students. The sold-out event on Thursday, April 30 at the RSA Activity Center, brings together supporters committed to the school’s mission of faith and purpose.
Action 8’s Estee Morrison spoke with Kimberly Baker, the academy’s director of development and marketing, about the excitement surrounding the event.
This year’s keynote speaker is Jeremiah Castille, a former University of Alabama All-American, NFL veteran and founder of the Jeremiah Castille Foundation. Castille has also served for more than two decades as chaplain for the University of Alabama football program, inspiring athletes on and off the field.
Founded in 2015 by brothers Anthony Brock and Frederick Brock, Valiant Cross Academy was created to help young African American men in Montgomery overcome social and academic challenges. The school emphasizes faith-based education, discipline and leadership development.
Although tickets for this year’s breakfast are no longer available, community members can still support the academy’s mission through donations on its website.
