ACTION 8 UPDATE: 2 dead, 1 injured in I-65 crash
MONTGOMERY, Ala (WAKA)- Montgomery police say 2 people are dead and another person has been injured in an overnight crash.
The three-vehicle crash happened around 12:37 a.m. Tuesday on I-65 Southbound near Southlawn Drive.
Officials say once officers arrived, they located one of the drivers, 20-year-old Elijah Mayes, with fatal injuries. Mayes was pronounced dead on the scene.
Another driver, 28-year Benjamin Henry Dallas Radel, also had fatal injuries. He was also pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the third vehicle was treated for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
