First Responders honored with breakfast in Prattville

PRATTVILLE, Ala. (WAKA) – The Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce has honored local first responders with an annual breakfast.

The chamber started this event about three years ago to highlight the impact the first responders make on their community and showing appreciation for the brave men and women who make countless sacrifices to keep the community safe.

About 120 first responders attended the breakfast, including state troopers, fire departments and city and county law enforcement.

“This is something for not only us as a chamber to recognize, but for our community to see that a lot of times the things that we watch on the news are not always the true story of the impact of what they do every day for us, so we want to show the community how thankful we are, which in turn shows how the community is thankful for them,” Prattville Area Chamber of Commerce President Patty Vanderwal told Action 8 News.

Several Prattville area businesses pitched in to make the breakfast possible.
