CAMPAIGN 2026: John Wahl wins Republican runoff for Lt. Governor

TANNER, Ala. (WAKA) – John Wahl spoke live with Action 8 News after winning the Republican runoff for lieutenant governor.

Wahl’s campaign party was in Tanner, which is in Limestone County, just across the Tennessee River from Decatur. His supporters cheered him on after he beat Wes Allen 57% to 43%. Wahl is the former head of the Alabama Republican Party and had won the endorsement of President Trump. Allen is the current Secretary of State and is a former state representative and probate judge from Pike County.

Wahl will move on to face Democratic nominee Phillip Ensler in the November 3 general election. Ensler is a state representative from Montgomery.
