MILLBROOK, Ala. (WAKA) – Millbrook police need your help identifying a body that has been found floating in a lake.

Millbrook Police Chief P.K. Johnson said on Wednesday, June 17, they got a call from a homeowner saying that he saw a body floating in a small lake in the area of Lakeview Drive and Sandtown Road. The body was recovered and has been sent to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for an autopsy and identification.

Johnson says there wasn’t any obvious signs of foul play.

He says the case is being considered a death investigation, but other than the location and recovery of the victim’s remains, investigators have very little information to go on.

Johnson says the remains appear to be that of a black man, approximately 30 to 50 years of age, approximate weight 180 to 200 pounds. The man was wearing black shorts, a black tank top and white tennis shoes.

Johnson says there are no reports of any missing persons from his jurisdiction that match the man’s description. He says they have reached out to law enforcement partners in the surrounding area, providing them with the limited information that they have at this time.

Johnson asks that if you have information about this case, to call the Millbrook Police Department at (334) 285-6832 or the Secret Witness Line at (334) 285-8500.
