Fatal industrial accident under investigation in Chilton County

CHILTON COUNTY, Ala. (WAKA) – The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal industrial accident.

The sheriff’s office says it responded to the accident at Bridge Builders of Alabama yesterday.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that a worker had been struck by heavy machinery. Emergency personnel responded to the scene, but the worker died.

The identity of the worker hasn’t yet been released.

“Our hearts go out to the family, friends and coworkers of the individual who lost his life in this tragic accident. We ask the community to keep them in their thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” Sheriff John Shearon said.
