The owners of the St. James Hotel in downtown Selma — say the historic hotel is set to reopen within the next few days.

The historic hotel is set to reopen as a Mariott brand — following a year long shutdown.

Mariott officials are on site this week. They’re inspecting the property and training staff — to make sure everything meets the Mariott brand standard.

“It will still be locally owned, still the same people running it and all that,” said Kelly Lewis.

“But we’ll have the benefit of Mariott franchise system and rewards and Bonvoy.”

The St. James Hotel has 55 rooms — an interior courtyard — meeting space — and a full service fitness center — bar — and kitchen.
