Lowndes Co. investigators need the public’s help to identify a thief

The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office is reaching out to the public for help — to try and catch a thief.

Investigators are hoping someone from the public can help them identify a man who recently walked into the Love’s Truck Stop just off I-65 and walked out with cash and merchandise.

“Sunday, the 13th of September, the subject entered the Love’s Truck Stop somewhere around 10:20 pm,” said Lt. Anthony Green.

“He then goes behind the counter. And he takes a combination of merchandise and cash totaling about $3500 dollars.”

The store’s video surveillance system captured the incident on camera. Investigators have released the surveillance video with the hope that someone from the public will know who he is.

“We’re hoping that the public can look at this individual and kind of give us information as to who he might be,” said Green.

“I think that he’s someone relatively local. So, we’re hoping that the public will see this broadcast and be able to identify him.”
