Man arrested in August 2026 double shooting

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WAKA) – Montgomery police have made an arrest in a recent shooting that left two people injured.

It happened around 11:23 p.m. on Thursday, August 27 in the 2800 block of Lower Wetumpka Road.

Once officers arrived, they found two adult males with life-threatening gunshot wounds. Both men were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Police have arrested 50-year-old Douglass Rogers in connection to that shooting.

Rogers was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with Discharging a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle, Discharging a Firearms into an Unoccupied Vehicle and two counts of Attempted Murder.

Rogers is currently in the Montgomery County Detention Facility.
