Montgomery County, Pike Road Look to Fund Project for Unused Land

Montgomery County and the city of Pike Road are coming together in hopes of bringing life to an area that desperately needs it. Officials say the new plans has big economic implications.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s office uses the local county lake for fishing trips with people in the county.Other than that the land is rarely used. Montgomery County Commissioners are looking to change that.
County officials are working with Pike Road officials on creating a trail, and a possible park, expanding the area from highway 231 down to Trottman Road, into the city of Pike Road.
The plans are not yet finalized. County Commissioners will vote on the proposal at tomorrows commission meeting.
