Jay Jacobs Speaks at Agape Benefit for Foster Children
Auburn Athletic Director Jay Jacobs and his wife, Angie, have been foster parents for decades. Tuesday night they shared stories of the love and hope they've shared with vulnerable and orphaned children over the years.
Agape of Central Alabama held its 2nd Annual Connecting Hearts benefit. The event was held at the Alley Station Warehouse and raised money to help connect children with families through adoption and foster care.
Agape sets out to match children with permanent homes with nurturing Christian families. Jay Jacobs says there are several ways to help children throughout the region.
“Those that can not actually lend their time to be foster parents, they can lend their funds so that Agape can hire more social workers so that they can equip more families to become foster parents in the state of Alabama. And that is really what is all about, is growing awareness and the great need in the state of Alabama,” said Jacobs.
Agape has locations throughout Alabama. This mission has served 2 thousand children through foster care, and more than 250 children through the permanency of a Christian adoptive family.
