Faulkner’s LeGate, Drake, Hill selected to All-SSAC teams
MONTGOMERY, Ala. (faulknereagles.com) – Faulkner women’s basketball player Faith LeGate, along with men’s players Nick Drake and Di’mar Hill have been selected to their respective All-Southern States Athletic Conference first teams, which were announced here Wednesday night at the post-season banquet at the Cramton Bowl Multiplex.
LeGate, a junior transfer from Lipscomb University, leads the Lady Eagles in scoring, averaging 15 points per game. The 5-11 forward from Nashville also averages eight rebounds, and is the top percentage shooter on the team from both the field and the free-throw line. Drake, a senior shooting guard also from Nashville, puts up 18 points per game along with three rebounds and three assists. Hill, a junior from Marietta, Ga., leads the SSAC in scoring at 21 points per game. The Eagles’ point guard also pulls down six rebounds and dishes out five assists a night.
Also honored at the banquet were Faulkner’s Champions of Character representatives, which were the Lady Eagles’ Paige Seaton and the Eagles’ D.J. Boyd. In addition, six Lady Eagles – Emma Herren, China Leary, Savana Flack, Kayla Tillman, Shannon Evans and Shelby Williams – made the conference’s all-academic team.
