Residents in one Montgomery neighborhood say old water pipes are causing issues on their street. They say they’ve reached out to Montgomery Water Works and are frustrated the problem hasn’t been resolved.
Residents on Biscayne Drive say a water main broke over a month ago. Montgomery Water Works repaired it.But, since then they say their water pressure is low and the are seeing water running down the street even when it’s not raining.
They say they think the waters coming from old pipes underground that may be causing the roads to deteriorate.
Clara Bledsoe, lived in neighborhood for 10 years said, “I’ve seen this water running and some days it’s not raining and you can see the water coming down the streets or evidence of the water. It seems like the water is semi decaying, that’s causing it to change the texture.”
Alabama News Network did speak with Montgomery Water Works leaders. They say the pipes under the neighborhood are old and will eventually be replaced and that the old pipes should not be affecting their water bills.
