The Salvation Army helps people throughout the year get back on their feet. And they couldn't do it without their volunteers.

Thursday night the Salvation Army took time to thank those volunteers at their annual banquet at Frazer United Methodist Church.
More than 300 volunteers gathered for the event, including several of our own from here at Alabama News Network.
The Salvation Army raised about 300 thousand dollars with the Red Kettle drive over Christmas.
Major Walter Strong thanks all of the volunteers.
“We absolutely could not do this without them. From helping serve meals, cook meals to raising funds to the kettles… They are the back bone of all that we do,” said Strong.
The Salvation Army has a 75 bed shelter and usually operates at about 75 percent capacity. They also feed 4 thousand meals a month and can always use your donations. Every dollar stays in the local area.
