Authorities Identify Victims of Haynes Air Ambulance Crash

GOODMAN, Ala. (AP) — The Alabama Emergency Management Agency has identified the four people who were killed in a helicopter crash in southeast Alabama.

Alabama EMA spokesman Greg Robinson said Sunday the victims who died in the crash were pilot Chad Hammond, flight nurse Stacey Cernadas, flight medic Jason Snipes and patient Zach Strickland. Robinson says the victims were aboard an ambulance helicopter that crashed around 12:17 a.m. Saturday in Goodman, Alabama.

The crew on board were taking a car crash victim to the hospital when the helicopter went down. The helicopter was based out of Troy.

“Three of them of course were the personnel and one of them was the passenger that was being life-flighted from the crash scene that occurred on Coffee County Road 606,” said Trooper Kevin Cook.

Haynes Ambulance began operating in Troy at Troy Regional Medical Center in October of last year.
