One Elmore County commission races will once again send voters to the polls.

The runoff elections is for the Elmore County Commission District 1 race. There will definitely be a new face though, because the two new candidates got more votes than the incumbent. Kenny Holt says his 40 years in banking and management make him fit for the job. Shanna Chamblee is a mother of eight and a farmer. She says she’s always had a passion for politics.

Shanna Chamblee, District 1 County Commission Candidate said, “I’m already there. I am already at every meeting and it was not because I don’t have anything to do, I have plenty to do. But, I want to work for people of this county I want to serve and I want to see our commission on the right path”

Kenny Holt, District 1 County Commission Candidate said, “A county commissioner is a manager of the funds from the county. Revenue is around $20-$23 million a year and I feel like I’m the best qualified to manage that type of resources and I want to look at it and see what we can do to improve things.”

The runoff is April 12th.
