The National Weather Service confirms an EF-0 tornado touched down at Pike Road Village Park, knocking down trees, and causing major damage.
Neighbors say the storm hit the area around 11:00 p.m.
Some suffered minor damage, while others weren’t so lucky. One family lost their mobile home, but they say the damage is the least of their worries, in fact what happened Wednesday night put things in perspective.
“Your family is most important, god is important, and it just refocuses my attention on what I’m doing with my life,” said Chris Lamar. His home was destroyed by the storm.
The National Weather Service also confirmed another tornado in western Lee County, along Highway 29, south of I-85
