Law students came out for a dose of encouragement and inspiration. Faulkner held their 11th annual Fred Gray Civil Rights Symposium.

This year’s theme focused on racial profiling, and the job of police officers.

Law students heard from lawyers as well as local members of law enforcement about the issue that’s received national attention, as well as creating movements like Black Lives Matter.

Attorney Fred Gray says he hopes students will walk away with the same passion he still has for law, and he also hopes they will see the situations happening around the country as an  opportunity for change.

Fred Gray represented Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King Jr. in the fight for equality for minorities.
