Hornets reveal Black & Gold weekend plans

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (bamastatesports.com)  – The 2016 Alabama State University football team’s Black and Gold Game will be the centerpiece of a full weekend of athletic events on the ASU campus April 22-23.

All events are free and open to the public, with concessions sold at all events. Fans are encouraged to come and tailgate on the ASU campus free of charge. RV parking lots open Friday at 5 p.m. in the Zone G Parking Lot at the Wheeler-Watkins Baseball Complex. Fans with RVs are encouraged to call 334-229-4529 to reserve your space for the weekend.

Tent tailgating will be permitted Saturday beginning at 7 a.m. in the Zone E parking lot behind Abernathy Hall. Primary parking for the Black and Gold Game will be available at ASU Stadium in Zones B and C.  ASU Stadium Gates B, D, and E will be open for fans beginning at 10:30 a.m., with on-field festivities beginning at 11 a.m. The ASU Ticket Office will be open Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. for fans to purchase season tickets for the 2016 football season.

ASU Softball will host a big weekend of games at the Barbara Williams Softball Complex. The Lady Hornets, who lead the SWAC’s Eastern Division, will host Mississippi Valley State in a three-game series, with a single game Fridayat 5 p.m., and a Saturday double-header beginning at 1 p.m.
