Family Pleads for Information to Help with Death Investigation
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
The investigation into the death of Perry County native Samuel Payne has been going on now for more than a year — but there’s been no arrest — and authorities are still no closer to solving the case.
Payne disappeared on New Year’s Eve night 20-14 and his body was found about three months later near a creek in Dallas County.
The North Carolina resident had returned to his family home in Marion Junction — to see his father who was dying of cancer.
“I want justice for my husband,” said Stephanie Jordan Payne. “I want whoever is responsible to pay for what they’ve done.”
Rachel Perkins is Samuel Payne’s mother.
“I want whoever know anything to come forward and tell the truth about what happened,” said Perkins.
The State Bureau of Investigation is heading up the investigation in the case.
