Seniors rehearse graduation at Alabama State University’s Acadome Friday evening.
For some, it’s hard to believe the big day is almost here.
“Tomorrow at graduation it might hit me that it’s time. It’s time for me to grow up and do what I need to do,” said Kayla Matthews.
Several of them tell us they plan to go on to grad school next.
“I plan on going to grad school in Huntsville or here at Alabama State University. I’m still trying to make a decision. But I want to become a teacher and sooner or later a principal. I think I’m ready and prepared to do it. I am excited to take on life,” said Matthews.
“I have actually already been selected to go to pharmacy school, so in the fall I will be going to pharmacy school at FAMU,” said Brittnie Hanley.
Ty Singletary says he has a plan to go into education… But on the sports side.
“I’m actually going to go in to grad school soon as I leave here. I’m going to take a step away from secondary education and end up going into sport administration at Mississippi State,” said Singletary.
Students are also looking forward to having Steve Harvey as their keynote speaker at graduation.
“Because he’s very funny. And this is going to sound bad, but I know it’s not going to be boring. So I’m very excited for Steve Harvey to be here,” said Hanley.
Whatever their career goals, they are excited to see what the world has to offer tomorrow and beyond.
“I’ve put together this college course work and it’s finally showing off how much work I’ve done. And I’m ready to show to my parents, my family, my friends that I am ready to enter the global market place,” said Singletary.
