River Region Iron Chef Competition Kicks Off In Downtown Montgomery
This month’s Second Saturday celebration in the capital city had a delicious addition, and it was all for a good cause.
The 5th annual River Region Iron Chef competition kicked off today at the Riverwalk Amphitheater.
Teams of two were given a basket of ingredients and a little over an hour to create a recipe, prepare their meal, then present it to the judges.
Alabama News Network anchors Stefanie Hicks and Ellis Eskew competed Saturday.
Proceeds from the event went to benefit Hemophilia and Bleeding Disorders of Alabama.
“This year they had to prepare chicken wings and a sauce, or two, or three, or four, and they had it as a blind thing because they had to run and get ingredients during a relay, so it’s kind of funny to watch them,” said Leslie Bailey, marketing director for HBDA.
