Golden Apple Teacher of the Year: Benita Taylor
During the school year, we honored several teachers with Golden Apple awards. Four of those previous winners have been competing to be the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year. These winners were then voted on by viewers.
The votes were counted and our meteorologist, Ryan Stinnett, revealed this year’s new Golden Apple Teacher of the Year. Second grade teacher, Benita Taylor from Redland Elementary School, was presented with the award.
We first met second grade teacher, Benita Taylor back in November, where she was making a difference in the classroom, by knowing the strengths weakness of each of her students personalities, and creating individual activities and lessons that allowed each of her students to be individually creative.
Throughout the entire school year, Huntington Learning Center was the sponsor for the Golden Apple Award and Cohens Electronics provided the brand new television, awarded to Mrs. Taylor for winning the award.
The other three nominees for the Golden Apple Teacher of the Year included Rhyanne Carrington from Bethany Christian Academy in Montgomery, Andrienne Boykin from Jackson-Steele Elementary in Lowndes county, and Bryan Easley from East Memorial Christian Academy in Prattville.
We say Congratulations to all our Golden Apple winners this year.
