Troy Vape Store Owner Fears New FDA Regulations

TROY ECIGARETTESVape shop owners fear new FDA regulations could have a harmful impact on their business.

Starting August 8th of this year no new vaping products are allowed on shelves. The FDA is requiring a detailed report to review from companies for each product. Shop owners say the move is costly, because each report could cost one million dollars. Gary Hudson of Southern Vapor in Troy says he also fears customers returning to cigarette smoking which he believes to be harmful.

“We will not be able to get products to sell in the store so therefore so therefore the industry itself will have to go away, because the cost is too much to stay in business,” says Hudson.

A government funding bill is pending in Congress now of an amendment that would allow products on the market right now to stay on the market without going through the retroactive pre-market process.
