Selma-Dallas Co. Farmers Market Set to Open at Bloch Park
From the West Alabama Newsroom–
People in Selma will soon have more options where they can buy fresh fruits and vegetables.
The Selma-Dallas County Farmers Market is set to open up for the summer this coming Saturday.
“Honestly, I prefer farmer’s market food over the store because its so many additives, so many different chemicals and you here about so many different recalls on food,” said Selma resident Joshua Stewart.
Local farmers say this time of year is peak season for small farms.
“It gives the local farmer the opportunity to be able to sell some of the vegetables that he has grown out in the field,” said Orrville farmer John Lumpkin.
The Farmers Market will be open every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 6 in the morning until two in the afternoon.
