Apology To Lincoln Cemetery Volunteers?

Controversy continues over Montgomery’s historic Lincoln Cemetery, after the city allowed a burial at the once neglected ceremony that is already far over capacity.

Weeds are almost covering many graves at the cemetery. It has been almost two weeks since the rehabilitation authority and volunteers resigned at the city council meeting because of the burial.

City leaders say the deceased woman bought the plot in 1949 and that’s why it was allowed.

But, on this coming Tuesday’s agenda Councilman Tracy Larkin is the sponsor of an apology, asking the volunteers to reinstate themselves.

Former Volunteer Photographer, Researcher For Authority  Denise Hardin said, “An apology will probably soothe some of the people, I can’t speak for Phillip and the rest of them, I can only speak for me. It’s nice. But it doesn’t undo what they have done.”

As to what all the apology will say is unclear. Larkin wasn’t available for an interview.
