Hot Weekend Weather
A heat advisory is in effect for today and Saturday. Heat indexes for both days will be at or above 105° during the afternoon hours. Look for high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s this afternoon. We could see some scattered strong storms mainly during the afternoon and evening hours and these storms will produce a lot of lightning, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds. Most of the convection should dissipate this evening once the sun sets, and we will be left with a muggy evening and night, as lows will be in the mid 70s.
WEEKEND WEATHER: Saturday will be another hot day with temperatures again in the mid to upper 90s with afternoon heat index values above 105°. The only heat relief comes from those widely scattered afternoon storms. Expect a near repeat for Sunday as well.
INTO NEXT WEEK: Slightly cooler temperatures come our way Monday, when temperatures will range from the lower to mid 90s. It will still be humid, but heat index values are expected to remain below heat advisory criteria. It also looks like we will have better chances for rain both Monday and Tuesday. By the middle of next week, temperatures will rebound into the mid 90s, with some isolated to scattered afternoon showers and storms possible.
Have a fantastic Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Ryan
