New Work Week, Same Old Forecast
For the start of the new work week, it will be another typical late July day here in Alabama. We are forecasting a partly to mostly sunny sky across the area with the risk of scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. Afternoon highs will be in the mid to upper 90s, and this should be the hottest day of the work week. Best chance of rain will be from about 12PM to 9PM, and odds of any one spot getting rain will be around 1 in 3.
MIDWEEK WEATHER: With Alabama being located in the middle of two ridges of high pressure, and being closer to the western periphery of the eastern ridge, a southerly wind will keep dew points in the low 70s. Tuesday & Wednesday will be partly cloudy with the threat of isolated showers and thunderstorms, especially from the late morning through the afternoon and evening hours. Afternoon highs will be in the low to mid 90s. Odds of any one spot getting rain will be around 1 in 4.
HEADING INTO THE WEEKEND: An upper trough swings to the east and it looks like the risk of rain will start to increase as we head towards the weekend. The sky will be mostly cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms possible at anytime throughout each day, odds for any one spot receiving rain each day could be as high as 50/50. Afternoon highs will be in the low 90s.
