The Democratic National Convention is underway. But not without controversy.
An email leak shows the Democratic National Committee chair favored Hillary Clinton.
Political analyst says its something Bernie Sanders knew he was up against all along.

“The Democratic hierarchy already decided they wanted Hillary Clinton 8 years ago. That she was going to be the Democratic nominee. The system and the organization was designed. But nothing illegal. they didn’t steal votes from Bernie Sanders. The votes were counted. Just the way the delegates are allocated lean in favor of Hillary Clinton,” said Flowers.

Despite protests around the convention from Bernie Sanders supporters, Sanders took the podium and told them to unite behind Clinton.

“It was important that Bernie Sanders totally and unconditionally endorse Hillary Clinton, unlike Ted Cruz. Then again it’s not similar because Ted Cruz was a far distant second runner out of 16 people, where there was really a two person race in the Democratic race between Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton,” said Flowers.

Flowers says he doesn’t think Sanders supporters will turn from Hillary Clinton or the Democratic party.
But during this election cycle, voters may be motivated to head to the polls for different reasons.

“It’s almost like George Wallace said one time, more people vote against someone than vote for him, and that’s really going to be the headline of this presidential election,” said Flowers.
