Wetumpka Holds Unity Forum
The city of Wetumpka wants to bridge the gap throughout its community. That’s why city leaders held their first unity forum. Several members of Wetumpka and Elmore County aw enforcement were on hand, as well as the Elmore County District Attorney’s Office. City officials say the goal of the event is to continue to strengthen community relations in the city and the people. Even though city officials say they’re doing a lot in the community. Others believe more needs to be done.
“We’ve started numerous programs that involve my police officers. We doing out reach where we go to the communities and walk around. I’ve even got one officer that even does a Bible study in an area here in town,” said Danny Billingsley, Wetumpka Police Chief.
Residents say they hope city officials will have another forum in the coming months.
